My Philosophy
In my over 20 years of military service focusing on counter-terrorism operations and training, I’ve come to understand the unparalleled value of real-world experience. However, I firmly believe that a sustainable future in counter-terrorism also hinges on academic excellence. This is why I’ve devoted myself to both operational roles and educational initiatives, as the co-founder of the Global Counter-Terrorism Institute and as Chair of Masters in International Security Studies at The Paris Graduate School-Innovative Knowledge Institute.
At the core of my philosophy is the concept of ‘soft power.’ I see education and diplomacy not merely as supplements to our security efforts, but as powerful tools that can shape attitudes and encourage international cooperation. It’s not just about identifying and neutralizing immediate threats; it’s about fostering an environment where such threats are less likely to emerge in the first place.
I am dedicated to ensuring that our strategies in counter-terrorism are adaptive and comprehensive, integrating both traditional methodologies and emerging technologies. It’s vital that we continue to evolve, as the nature of the threats we face is ever-changing. While I’m honored by the awards and recognitions I’ve received, they are not my end goal. My true aim is to enhance our global security frameworks.
I am committed to leveraging my expertise to benefit a wide range of organizations and sectors, all while nurturing the next generation of leaders who are up to the challenge of safeguarding our world. In essence, my life’s work is a blend of academic rigor and operational efficiency, with a healthy dose of soft power, all aimed at one objective—a safer, more secure global community.
